Welcome to Enfield Town

Church Street street sign
View when approaching from the west

This is the view faced by visitors to Enfield Town when approaching from the west. It includes many of the worst features of visual clutter and lack of management to be found in Enfield Town. They include:

Western entry to Church Street Further view of western entry to Church Street. Notice the unnecessary road markings.
Masts and railings

Free standing pavement notice boards are unnecessary, add clutter and reduce pavement width. There are a number along this stretch of Church Street which should be removed. Some boards have been placed on the outer edge of the pavement and others opposite waste bins.

The view to the left shows the cumulative visual effects of CCTV masts, railings, traffic lights, direction signs and road markings on the street scene. All of this is in probably the most sensitive section of Church Street opposite the Market Place.
