Published by The Enfield Society in cooperation with Southgate District Civic Trust. It describes six walks through some of the most historic and interesting parts of the borough. There are revised versions of the old Enfield Town and Forty Hall and Bulls Cross leaflets, new walks in Edmonton and Enfield Lock and Southgate and Winchmore Hill ones, contributed by SDCT. Sketch maps of each walk are included and there are thirty black and white illustrations by local artists.

A map of footpaths in the borough, with descriptions of "Some of Enfield's favourite public footpaths", including the Silver Jubilee Footpath from Hadley Road to the Ridgeway - an Enfield Preservation Society project. The map and its accompanying sheet describe eighteen walks, with some additional options.

The 2001 edition shows new paths that have opened over the last couple of years together with others currently under construction that are likely to open before too long. These include the 0.75 mile link bwtween the West Lodge and Stagg Hill paths, several parts of the New River path, and the Mossops Creek permissive path which opens up access to the River Lea towpath from the Brimsdown area.

A guided walk from Forty Hall to Capel House, with notes and illustrations on many of the interesting buildings on the route, including the Goat Public House, the Hermitage, Canister Lodge, Worcester Lodge, the Dower House, Elsynge House, Jesus Church, Forty Hill School, Maidens Bridge, the New River and Middleton House.


Enfield Town walk

A guided walk around Enfield Town, including the Market Place, St. Andrew's Church, the Church School of Industry, White Lodge, Enfield Grammar School, Chase Green, Archway House, Gentleman's Row and the New River, with many interesting places in between.
